About Lottie
I am a recent graduate of Stanford University with a degree in earth systems, an interdisciplinary environmental science major. Over my undergraduate career, I took advanced courses in math and science, numerous English classes requiring both analytical and creative writing, and classes in economics and politics. I helped classmates and friends workshop and edit essays for content, clarity, and grammar. I also provided math tutoring while in high school for algebra 1 and 2 and trigonometry, and I tutored elementary-level reading.

Establish clear goals - what skills do you want to learn or improve? what specific assignments do you have to do?

Get to know the student - the better a relationship we have, the more fun and effective tutoring will be
Determine how the student works most effectively - do you focus best with frequent breaks to look forward to or do you need sustained fous to get in a groove? Does it help to think about things visually or to hear them explained?
I have tutored elementary school students in reading and writing, and have with with English-as-second-language students in this capacity. I have also worked with students struggling in high middle/low high school level math who required high levels of help/explanation, and I have worked with students doing well in advanced high school math who wanted only someone to clarify concepts opcassinally and check homework with.
