About Djenane
Djenane Gourgue has been offering math tutoring and homework help since February 1996. She is passionate about helping students in our community improve and excel in math, while having fun, through our year-round and summer math programs.
I love it since high school, during my last years I was required to teach elderly. During college, I helped many friends in Math, Calculus. When I moved to Florida became a Substitute Teacher, then taught Religious Education. In 204 when I was diagnosed with cancer, I decided to work less hours and was an ESOL Assistant Principal and teacher for the Miami School District Adult Education.

When working with a new student, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, students have potentially struggled with various topics, so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any tutoring begins is essential to their success.
During the first lesson I center around finding out what the student already knows, and where the holes are in their knowledge so I can determine what to focus on.
I don't have a preference I love the interaction with students from 8 years through high schoolers. The college and university students bring their own perspective and are very inquisitive. Adults students are often focus on time management when it comes to their learning.
Ask all the question as not question is a stupid one.
