About Abraham
I take a conversational approach with tutoring. Through my guidance, students come to discover and articulate math concepts that have never made sense to them before. I make it a priority that my students are able to identify what they learned and take ownership of their undiscovered math abilities.
I love seeing my students realize that they are capable of higher level mathematical thinking, even if they have never believed it before. Every student can achieve greatness in mathematics, and I love being next to them once they recognize it for themselves.

Typically, I like to see what math skills a student already knows and feels confident in. Everything in math builds off of previous content, so it is important to understand the foundation of the student's background.
Next, I like to re-introduce the topics that the student is currently learning in school to help them make the connections with their foundational skills. I focus on confidence building during this stage because success in mathematics is heavily dependent upon a student's belief in themselves.
When ready, I like to introduce new topics that will reinforce the topics covered in the student's class. The more connections made, the more higher-level thinking that takes place and competency in new skills.
