About Caleb

I have always been passionate about teaching others. As a senior in high school, graduating early with a 4.0 GPA in the top 50 of my class, I hope to inspire and help others to learn math and English. I offer tutoring, homework help, and essay editing up to Algebra 1 and English 9 for anyone who may need a little extra guidance.

I have experience in teaching my classmates and friends up to Algebra 1 and English 9. I am currently a senior in highschool and am graduating early with a 4.0 GPA in the top 50 of my class.

About the lesson

When beginning to work with a new student, I always ask what their strengths and weaknesses are in a particular subject. This allows me to ensure that I provide the kind of help that they need. Then, I ask them what topics related to math or English they specifically need help with. If they need help with a specific homework assignment, I will ask them to send me a picture or file containing the assignment. When we meet, we'll go over the concept or assignment, and I will help them work through any questions they may have.

I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school (freshman) students who struggle in their math or English classes. Typically, the students I help have difficulty focusing in a normal school environment or need additional explanation for certain topics.

When looking for a math or English tutor, it is important to consider your personal needs when it comes to learning. For example, do you like to work with your hands, or would you prefer to listen to an explanation or lesson? Montessori methods of teaching may aid a student who prefers the former, while more traditional methods of teaching may help the latter. It is also important to like the tutor. Not every tutor will be the perfect fit for every student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before discussing your needs with a tutor, ask yourself the following questions: Do I need to take notes in order to learn? What about my current teacher/school works for my learning style, and what doesn't? Would a different method of applying this concept help me understand it better? What do I struggle with when it comes to this subject? Do I understand the concept but have difficulty applying it?

Details

Typically, I charge $15/hr session through Zoom or Discord, with a $5 travelling fee if I am travelling to meet a student. If a student cannot afford the price for time they need, I can make individual arrangements.
