About Jules
I believe that everyone has the potential to solve math problems and speak the language of math. I strive to work with the individual on their personal strengths and limitations with mathematics to better prepare them for the classroom, tests, and practicing healthy study habits. I work with any and every student with a focus on students who are often neglected in the classroom and in mathematics: women, womxn, and people within the LGBTQ community.
I enjoy working with students to create a world where math doesn't feel like a burden, or that it's impossible, or that it's only for a certain kind of person. Unfortunately most people feel like if they can't keep up in the classroom, or they aren't doing well on an exam, then they are lesser for it. Which is not true and I enjoy making mathematics accessible to those who have struggled to feel welcomed, seen, and heard in the world of math.

I have new students fill out a questionnaire to get a feel for their previous and current history with math. This includes questions that ask students about their personal relationship and feelings about math as well as what they have and haven't done in the curriculum.
