About Ory
I strive to teach math in a fun, engaging, and methodical way. Math becomes increasingly more difficult and overwhelming if questions remain unanswered. Thus, for each topic, I make space for the student to ask any and all questions, building a strong foundation of understanding. We will additionally go through practice problems, homework, and tests, giving the student confidence in their ability to excell at math!
I love to guide students through difficult subjects and seeing their understanding, confidence, and enjoyment of the topic grow. I am grateful for the opportunities to teach and have an impact on students' outlook of math.
I started 6 years ago as a Teaching Assistant in college for high level Electrical Engineering and Physics courses. Since then, I have expanded to tutoring middle school and high school students. I love kids and am excited to help them develop their love of math!
I have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Physics , and I am a current PhD student at George Mason University. I have taken many high level math courses throughout my career.

Whenever I start working with a new student, I have an initial meeting with them so we can get to know each other. During this meeting we discuss the family's and student's goals for tutoring. I talk with the student about their comfort level with math and their strengths and weaknesses. We make a plan together, outlining what the sessions will look like, whether it will be going over homework and tests, focusing on a specific subject, or reviewing material from the past week. Math can be a scary and stressful subject and I try my best to make it approachable and fun!

Details
My initial get-to-know-you meeting with each student is free. Subsequent meetings are $50/hr. I typically work with students 1-2 hours a week.
