I was in the top 10% of my graduating class of over 500 students. I received the president's award 3 years. At 12, I was scouted by Duke University to take the ACT, and only 1 point away from a full ride to their school.
I have many people who have called on my skills from Middle School to College level courses, as well as parents who just need help doing a little math to get some DIY project finished.

I try to find their learning style, and give them a chance to show me what they know to begin with. If they are having trouble grasping the way the teacher has taught it to them, then I show them new ways, or even the long way to do it, so they can see where everything came from and WHY it is the way it is.
