About Jerren

Greetings! I'm Jerren Spruill, a multi-platinum Atlanta based music producer and recording engineer. I'm very passionate and excited about the art of music production. I'm looking forward to imparting a wealth of knowledge and experiences into those who are aspiring producers and engineers!

I began my professional music career in 2008 engineering for artists such as Yung Joc, Mims and Nicki Minaj. The opportunities to produce came later that year producing my first song for Katy Perry. I later and founded my own production company J-Kits Music LLC in 2012. Throughout my 11 years of professional experience I have produced for major recording artists such as Katy Perry, Trey Songz, Nelly, Jidenna, Estelle, Meek Mill, P-Diddy, Teyana Taylor T.I., and Janet Jackson. I also have experience in film scoring, and producing music for television.

My goal is to teach you the day to day process of being a music producer/engineer and how to translate that into success. My course will entail:

- Developing organization skills, music theory, techniques to hone your production/engineering craft, study sessions, how to create business for yourself and get paid, different perspectives to approach the creative process, and how to collaborate with other creatives.

I believe this will be a fun experience for us both! I look forward to imparting some knowledge into the next generation of music producers and engineers.

I started in 2014 after I build my first home studio.

I've worked alongside some of the best musicians in the music industry. Produced multi-platinum records, engineered and mixed commercial songs, and I've consulted many up and coming artists and production companies throughout my 11 year career.

About the lesson

First is to get to know them and their unique personality. Then we open up about what share in common, understanding what they're seeking to learn and what challenges may be in the way. From there I can begin assessing what their skill level is so that I can begin teaching seamlessly from that point on. No one student is the same, so I want to develop healthy challenges that suit their specific needs for development.
