About Laura
I am a former secondary English teacher with 20+ years experience working with 6-12 and university writing students. I have taught 7th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade English. One of my unique specialties is test preparation: ACT English, ACT Reading, SAT English, and SAT Reading.
I have a BA and MA in English with minors/cognates in Technical Writing and Secondary Certification. I also have extensive training and experience working effectively through virtual platforms. What this means for my students is that they can experience a dynamic learning experience wherever they might be. I pull from both personal knowledge and skills to meet every student’s individual needs.
I believe that student learning is a team effort. Parental feedback and involvement is key to a student’s ability to excel. My goal is for students to develop skills, knowledge, confidence, and independence.
