About Michaele
Art of Pop is the business name for singer/songwriter, music producer, Michaele Alyras de Cygne. Michaele has been writing songs for nearly 5 decades, and her credits includes songs published with MCA, Universal Music, as well as via her own company, Seirei Music Eternal. Her work spans a broad array of genres, and languages, primarily focusing on Pop, Rock, [pre-Y2K] R&B, Dance/Electronica, World Music, and Jazz. Her music has been featured in several television shows, ("Angel", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Party of Five"), and indie films. As a Jazz vocalist, she excels in improv; as a jazz voice teacher, she helps her students to find their true voices, rather than allowing them to learn tricks of the trade enabling them to successfully act the part.
Michaele teaches you how to tap what's in your heart, how to focus it, and bring it up, and out so others can feel what you feel when they hear what you heard inside you.
I first taught music to elementary school students, in Los Angeles, CA, during the summer of 1981. I realized then that I prefer to teach adult students; i.e. students age 18+, because their commitment to work is there.

Initally, I do a free consultation to determine whether I may be the best teacher for the student. During the consultation, I determine our astrological compatibility; all students must know their
a) Birth date
b) specific birth time, and
c) birth location,
and they must be willing to provide me with that info.
If we're not astro compatible, I will recommend another teacher; if we are, then I gather the following info:
1) Student's objective--what does he, or she wish to accomplish from what I teach her, or him.
2) Student's skill level.
3) Student's work ethic.
Based on those two factors, along with the astro profile, I assist my students in reaching those objectives, based on a mutually agreed, general course plan, (in keeping with her, or his work ethic).
I work with students who are ambitious, and have a solid career goal in mind, rather than those who are just interested in exploring music in order to see if they really like it. I push students beyond their comfort zones, and only those who are serious last with me for more than 4-5 lessons. I'm not interested in exploration; I am interested in helping you to achieve your goal of a particular level of professional capability. Hence, I am only interested in students who are interested in being creative professionals.
It's fine with me if you're just a beginner, or if you're a seasoned pro in one genre who wishes to expand your capacities. Just be serious.

Details
I charge a flat fee for my lessons which is $50 for a 50-minute lesson. Those fifty minutes often stretch into 53-56 minutes, based general, additional tips after class.
