About Vince
I know that no two players are the same. Every student needs to be taught based on an individually tailored program. Above all, students need to understand that they're making music first and foremost. I'm old school in my teaching approach and teach the sound fundamentals of the Schlossberg school. I'm extremely patient and I strive to make lessons fun and engaging.
I'm a graduate of the Mannes Collage of Music ('82) and was taught by the finest players and teachers of the time. I have a passion for teaching. I love nothing more than to see my students succeed using the sound fundamentals I teach them to apply.
I enjoy seeing improvement in my students. I like helping my students learn how to make music and participating with them on that journey.
I taught a great deal when graduated from school. I stopped for a while byt I've been teaching for about the last 10 years. I like to set goals and plan ways to achieve them.
I've always loved teaching and I've always had a great respect for teachers. When I graduated from school it as something that just developed because people felt I was good at explaining things and was very patient.
I have a degree from the Mannes College of Music and studied with some of the finest pedagogues of the time including Bill Vacchiano and Vince Panzerella. My first teacher was a gentleman named Paul Kovarick who was a student of Max Schlossberg and was a proponent of his school of teaching. Bill Vacchiano was also a Schlossberg student and Vince Panzerella was a student of Arnold Jacobs.

We start with an evaluation lesson. During this session we identify where the student and I believe help is needed. We test the embouchure, range, tone quality, and skill level, I ask an extensive set of questions to gather required information. We identify the method books the student has and uses. We look at the instument to make sure it's appropriate for the player's skill level.
I've worked with brand new players from ages 8 to 60. I've worked with advanced players that had specific problems that they want to work though. I've worked with high school students preparing for collage entry exams. There's isn't an age group or playing level that I haven't worked with.
Be sure the teacher is listening to you and your concerns. They should focus on your individual playing level and treat you with respect and patience. Don't study with someone who's doing it purely for the money. They're easy to spot.
Two of my beginning students game to one of my concerts. One is 10 years old and the other is 58 years old.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should be able to clearly explain the problem. They should also be able to explain what they have been doing to correct it, if anything.
Learning and improving is about critical thinking and self-analysis. Students should think through their own process and be able to explain it clearly.
Recommendations

Vince, an experienced trumpet player, can instruct a novice or an advanced musician. Vince currently works with my son who is a fourth grader. My son improves with every lesson that he does with Vince. He is patient, offers tips, and assigns appropriate practice for him. My son learns more from him in a short time than months of music instruction at school. I highly recommend him!!!
Being a novice I find it very enjoyable that he is always coming up with new drills that help me achieve goals that seemed at one point unattainable. His knowledge, experience and patience help make my improvement with the trumpet a reason that I will continue to work with Vince.
