About Carlamarita
I am an MSc graduate from LSHTM with a master's in Medical Parasitology, and a BSc graduate from Durham University with a bachelor's in Biological Science. There are some really weird and interesting things I have learnt during my degrees so I always love to bring in some real world weirdness to our lessons when relevant (from parasites and worms to the world's largest single celled organisms...!) because I know it's easier to be inspired by science when you're not just learning the syllabus for an exam.

For the past two years, I have been a full time tutor in Dubai teaching children of all ages, but specialising in GCSE and 11+ examinations.
The teaching approach I have found to work best is to incorporate fun and diversity into the lessons- you learn more if you are having a good time! I like to supplement this with exam question practice as the more experience you have seeing what the exam questions could look like, the more confident you will feel during the exam. It helps teach content at the same time as exam technique- a winning combination!
A typical lesson is an hour, but can be shorter or longer depending on the needs of the student.
