About Suzanne
I help people over the age of 50 take control of their health and feel their very best.
You probably know that exercise helps you achieve a healthy weight. Did you know it can also help you stand up taller, prevent or decrease pain and neuropathy, protect bone density, improve digestion, and sleep better?
I set my clients up with a program that fits their lifestyle and needs, so they can maintain their results for a lifetime. My training style is personable and positive, and we try to have a little fun along the way! Exercise may not always be easy, but it shouldn't feel like torture either. I believe exercise can feel good and be a sustainable part of our daily lives.
I love seeing people reach their goals! My clients usually feel better immediately after working with me (because exercise releases endorphins, and mindfulness increases a sense of calm). Long term wins include being able to play on the floor with grandchildren, walking without assistance, and getting more positive results from doctor's visits.
I am an experienced, NASM certified personal trainer and registered yoga teacher, with over 4,000 teaching hours. I have experience and training in working with older adults, pre- and post- natal clients, and people with larger bodies. I'm also an experienced 500 hour certified yoga teacher and Pilates instructor. I hold a B.A. in Spanish language and literature from Colorado State University.

I like to learn a little bit about the student's needs and goals, and if they are working with any injuries or illnesses. And I want to answer all their questions, so they can decide if working together is a good fit.
I have worked with all sorts of clients, including older adults, pregnant and post-natal women, and people with larger bodies.
Look for someone with maturity and patience who speaks honestly with you about your exercise plan. Fast results may be possible, but usually cause people to burn out and go back to their old patterns and routines. Using mindfulness and patience, we can create long-lasting results and behavior changes that make you feel better in the long-term.
A regular client of mine recently told me she went to the doctor expecting to schedule a spinal surgery. The doctor was amazed at how much stronger and more flexible her back was after training with me for 3 months, and said that surgery was no longer recommended in light of her new advancement.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
To prepare for a consultation, students can think about what they really want from their sessions. Do they want to lose weight? Move their body more easily? Improve balance or flexibility? Do they want to sleep better, feel less stressed, or manage symptoms of anxiety?
They can also share what has - or has not - worked for them in the past, and things they may like or dislike in a training program.
It's also important to share any pertinent health information, such as injuries or surgeries, or movements that are painful or contraindicated by a healthcare provider.

Suzanne is a brilliant gem of a person! She is full of knowledge and her classes and workshops are always a blessing to attend.
The shop is as beautiful as the way Kim and her stylists make you look and feel❤
I started going here to get my natural hair blown out about 2 months ago. Velma does my hair and it's honestly the healthiest my hair has ever been. My hair isn't Crazy Bone straight when she blows it out like when I go to a Dominican or other salons that I've been to, but my hair feels so healthy because I always get a treatment with my blowout as recommended. The natural blowout is about 50 to $60 depending on the length I think. I had gotten a trim a few weeks before the first time I went to her and I still don't need another one!
Kim is AWESOME!! I've found my forever-stylist. My daughter and I will definitely be coming here from now on. We are both natural and I am VERY picky about who I let touch our hair. The staff is courteous, they use quality products and they are very timely. If you're in the market for a new stylist definitely check them out!!!
Positive: Professionalism, Quality
Kim the owner and the rest of the staff couldn’t be friendlier or nicer. They aim to please and make that when you leave her shop you are happy and feeling fabulous!!!!
Soultry scissors never and can never fail! They provide the best service and know a lot about hair. They use quality products and you see the results in your hair. Everyone from the owner to the receptionist is so friendly. I feel at home hair and have been going for over 10 years. My stylist Velma is the best. I am natural and have a lot of hair. She takes her time and is so patient. I can’t go anywhere else to get my hair blown out. Do yourself a favor and get your hair done here!
Kim, Audry and my stylist Velma are top class professionals! Receptive to your questions about hair, scheduling and hair products; they make it easy and comfortable to come to the shop. Velma is helping me transition to natural styles that are beautiful and protective- encouraging growth. Thanks ladies!
Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, Value
The hair designers are professionals, and they love what they do. They care about you and the growth of your hair. One of the hair designers there, is Tameka. She has been doing my hair for years. She really listens to her clients, and then she creates a masterpiece.
Tameeka is terrific. Black hair care can be pricey but she really takes care of my hair. Nice atmosphere.
Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value
Love love love. I’m 100% natural and my first time going to S.S. Was in January. Tameka was my stylist and she did a phenomenal job. My hair was laidddd okay. The staff was friendly and the music was really good too. The second time I went was 9/26 for my bday and I had Lynn who was also nothing short of amazing. She educated me about my hair and was fun to talk to as well. This place is the only place I trust for my blow outs.
Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality
This was our first time visiting Soultry Scissors. The appointment was for my daughter. Initially there were a couple of hiccups with my appointment time, however, it was resolved and I am SO GLAD I did not let it deter me. This by far is the best my daughter's hair has ever looked. Gorgeous! Also one by one, the ladies who came to be serviced walked out with beautiful hair. Thank you to the stylist Velma! She really took her time and offered tips to help me at home when caring for my daughter's hair. Also thank you to the lady at the front desk ( I beleive her name is Audrey) She was pleasant and professional which helped ease my tension about the mix up with the appointment. Also the shop is very thorough with cleaning during these times.
Thank you lady for the Glamorous Service for myself and my little one she definitely was swing that hair like a little Princess ❤❤❤😁
Single dad with 2 young girls, ages 11 and 9; found this place based on a referral. A little expensive, but they did a great job with my girls. As a consultation, Mumta took care of them; wash/condition their hair, then natural braids. Girls loved warm and friendly ladies along with the nice vibe of the shop - and of course they loved the braids. $125 per head, which I presume is the standard rates these days.Suzanne is an amazing teacher! I have taken multiple classes with her as well as individual instruction. She skillfully guides you through a vinyasa class, yoga nidra or gives subtle adjustments leaving you feeling invigorated, relaxed and rejuvenated. The greatest part about sessions with Suzanne is the environment she creates. You feel safe, held and cherished in her presence. I highly recommend Luna Mountain Yoga to anyone!
