About Jhoanna
I work with private clients in my own little space at home.
I incorporate a holistic approach in Yoga, and not only teach the poses but I may go beyond the obvious physical limitations in the body to address some or any emotional, mental or psychological distresses that my student may be challenged with that she may not consciously be considering during her work with me.
I love being able to share my experiences and knowledge I have gathered throughout my career and daily life happenings that are relevant to my client’s current situation, that will allow her to relate to me and make her feel that they’re never alone in their journey.
Yoga was what helped me recover from post-partum depression. I knew and decided that I can’t let the darkness in those moments consume me. It was through God’s grace and my family’s loving support that I was able to rise up again through Yoga. My goal was to help myself first so I can help others help themselves.
I have my training and certification for 200hr Yoga since 2015, and have training and certifications in Yin Yoga, children’s Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Yoga Trapeze, Trauma-informed curriculum, and soon to receive my Pre/Post Natal Yoga training and certification.
I’m also a licensed and presently practicing Physical Therapist for 16 years and counting.
I’m passionate about learning and staying updated with current and effective practices in my work to stay in integrity with what I’m here to do to serve others.

I usually send them questions that will allow me to have a better idea of where they are and what their most important goal and challenge is to start their Yoga practice. I believe it’s vital to meet them where they are and knowing this beforehand will empower them to take the lead in their journey to well-being.
I can work with every kind of body, but I feel so lit up when I work with students who are just discovering Yoga. It is their openness to learn so they can take the first step in their wellness journey that totally inspires me and my creative ideas flow on how to bring Yoga into their lives that gives them the empowerment to create a practice that is uniquely their own.
My only advice is to listen to your body and to your heart. I believe in the saying that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. You will feel it in your core when you are ready to open yourself up to experience the practice of Yoga. And finding your teacher will take being honest with yourself about what you really need in order for your teacher to support you in a way that serves your highest good.

Details
I have a minimum fee but I don’t intend this become a barrier for students to come to me because of that. I prefer to communicate with prospective students so I can better understand their situation and together we can come up with an affordable and fair pricing that not only will allow them to start their Yoga practice but make them feel empowered in the process of taking the lead in their journey to well-being.
