I specialize in private lessons with a focus on proper alignment. I will tailor the lesson to suit your needs. I can also add on 30-60 minutes of Reiki to your private yoga session. I love seeing a postive change in people. I enjoy being a part of someone discovering yoga for the first time and then coming back for more. It's rewarding to help people explore and discover what their bodies are capable of. I want to help people FEEL better. Yoga can accomplish that in many ways. It starts with the body, quickly includes the mind and eventually the spirit. It is truly transformational.
I love yoga and wanted to deepen my practice. I really had no intention of teaching inititally but it has become so rewarding.
I have been studying yoga for over 10 years. I have been passionate about fitness and nutrition all my life. In college studied nutrition and exercise pysiology. I have practiced several styles of yoga over the years. I am a 200 RYT certified yoga instructor. I'm also trained in Reiki energy healing.

I first ask about any injuries or areas of concern in the body. I inquire about past experience in yoga. I ask if there are specific goals in mind. I like to know why the student is interested in yoga and what they hope to achieve. I would then start them slow through a series of basic postures to get a baseline. I would then slowly progress them as appropriate. At the conclusion of the session, I ask them to provide feedback. I then take notes so that I may plan accordingly for the next session.
I've worked with all kinds of students from very old to very young, male and female. I've worked with very overweight students as well. Yoga is for every body. Yoga can help so many conditions in so many ways. I encourage everyone to at least try it because I know that most, if not all, will be back for more.
My advice is if they don't ask about prior experience or injuries, run for the door. The main thing is to be safe, not to try and capture a pose that you aren't ready for. It's about feeling your body in a pose. I'd make sure they have your health as their number one concern.
Wanderlust yoga festivals make me feel so alive. There is something comforting about being surrounded with like minded people. Most attendees are of the highest vibration and are seeking to bring more positive change into the world.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why are you coming to yoga? What do you hope to get out of a yoga class? Why are you coming to a studio instead of taking an online class? What are your end goals?

I've been going to Karla's classes for about 8 months now. I've tried a few other yoga teachers but I keep going back to Karla's class. I really love her happy personality and the fact that she likes getting to know her clients on a personal level. It makes me feel welcomed in her studio. When it comes to Karla's classes, Not only does she really motivate you to get through her classes, but Karla also takes the time to help you with your poses while encouraging good body mechanics. I also really like that she incorporates the use of essential oils at the end of her class.
Hi Karla,
I just wanted you to know that my hips felt so much better after your yoga class. I'm going to sign up for Vinyasa around me. I loved it!View more recommendations
