About Marcella
I love to teach gentle yoga because it creates the most forgiving and nurturing environment for people lacking flexibility.
I love to witness the small changes we can make that cause a huge impact on our daily lives.
I was encouraged by my yoga teacher who taught me yoga in a very nurturing environment. She taught me that our practice not only benefits our physical body but does so much good to our mental body. Before I started my journey I could not calm my mind because of stress and anxiety. I learned that life is stressful but we are the ones who get to choose how it affects us. Yoga and meditation has tranformed how I process stressors.
I was certified as a yoga teacher in 2017 and have worked at a recovery center and a non profit doing yoga and meditation. This year I will be certified in yoga nidra and will continue my studies for a certification in yoga therapy.

I usually go slow and all my lessons have a purpose and an intention. I also include a guided meditation in the savasana part of the practice
I have worked with students in recovery from drugs and alcoholism and have also worked on a one on one basis with students that have anxiety and physical problems.
When looking for a yoga teacher, it would be best to identify what you would like to work on and then shop around for the type of yoga you need. There are so many varieties so it really depends on what you need to work on at the time. It could range from slowing down the pace of your mind to aquiring more flexibility.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Identify the need and then do your research on the different types of yoga. Sometimes its simply that we have to learn how to breath correctly to bring breath to different parts of our body.
