About Pauline

We teach Iyengar Yoga. We have special classes for pregnancy, beginners, continuing students, advanced students, and minor ailments like knee pain or lower back pain.

I am an Intermediate Level certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) with over 10 years of teaching experience.

I help people heal themselves and find peace in their lives. I offer pregnancy yoga classes for women so they can get through their pregnancies with less discomfort, and have more success for natural labor and delivery.

About the lesson

I have worked with students with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cancer, arthritis, drop-foot and partial paralysis, uterine prolapse, Parkinson's disease, as well as normal, healthy individuals between ages 17 and 72.

I'm a serious teacher with a great deal of knowledge compared to most yoga teachers. The Iyengar method is proven for being safe, and for therapeutics. I study in a regular basis in India, and with a very senior, world-renowned teacher in Champaign-Urbana.

A woman who had undergone mastectomy for breastcancer twelve years ago began to work with me privately. She could not raise her arms above her chest and had lower back problems as well (pain and stiffness). After a few weeks of private sessions we gradually shifted her to regular group classes. The progress has been truly remarkable. She has a much greater range of motion with her arm in the cancer side; is steady in standing postures, stronger and pain free in her back. We have even taught her how to do shoulder stand, which is extremely beneficial for hormone balance, digestion, and immunity. No one believes she is 72!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Potential students should consider whether they really need private lessons or are able to take group lessons. I generally reserve my time for private lessons only for those who are physically unable to keep up with a group lesson.
