About Ashlea
Hi Yogini's!
I am Ashlea Sovetts, a multifaceted dance artist and yogi. In my classes, I value building strength and mobility, deepening the use of the breath and incorporating mindfulness on and off the mat. During my classes, I emphasize a somatic approach by incorporating energetic breath, spiraling fluidity and awareness of one’s presence.
I am originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I graduated Cum Laude from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC where I hold a Bachelors of Arts degree in Dance and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. I received my 200 HR Registered Yoga Teacher Certification in 2015 in Raleigh, NC and have been teaching and practicing ever since.
My favorite genres of Yoga to teach are: Yin, Hatha inspired slow flow, Vinyasa, and Power (bapitiste inspired), along with guided meditation and goal journaling exercises. However, what I most enjoy is combining the needs of my clients to make a class suitable for them, (that's my dancer creativity side coming out!)
Most importantly what I love about teaching Yoga is that I am here to be a guide for you throughout your practice as you grow. I truly enjoying getting to know my clients, hearing their goals and challenges while sipping tea or coffee! I am here to facilitate a practice and help you not only achieve your goals, but help you build confidence to live your most fulfilled daily life on and off the mat.
I enjoy seeing my students work through some challenging times on the mat. Sometimes I can see the difficulty trying to relax into a pose and I hear their breath change. However, I know this is their time to work through something on the mat in order to let go and feel at ease later on.

Usually, I would like to do visit either in person or over the phone to discuss your goals for our sessions, your past experiences with Yoga (if any) and how you like to learn.
Also, here I would like to discuss any injuries (if any), health challenges, or allergies you may have. (During sessions I like to use essential oils sometimes if permitted!)

She took the time to explain what we were goi g to do and how to do it. She made sure that we were in the correct position and stance. I felt noticeably more flexible and relaxed after our sessions.
Ashlea took in consideration the limitations of my body and found a way create a space for me to practice yoga mindfully. She is mindful and respectful in her teaching and successfully demonstrates her knowledge on both the body and yoga philosophy.
Ashlea knows her stuff! Between movements, poses, music, correcting our form and then some, she truly shows how much she cares about the practice. She also take the time to make sure we get what we need out of it!
Ashlea is an intuitive teacher with incredible empathy and body knowledge. Her classes are well structured with a unique flow that feels natural and is accessible to all levels of yoga practitioners.
