About Amy J
After 5 years of teaching Yoga to different levels of students (adults and kids) and teaching stunts and also teaching swim to all ages....
I feel that I have an understanding of "baby steps" and that we all learn differently and might need different challenges or steps to grow.
I hope to guide you during your own Yoga journey. Learning to listen to your body, find awareness of your breathe and learn to quite your mind. I aim to help you slowly, confidently, safely, watch yourself grow each session. Unconsciously discovering a deeper part of yourself during the process. Helping to find "your" bliss.
I enjoy watching my students grow each session. I enjoy providing steps to keep them safe and in touch with their own being and breath. I love learning about the person and what they hope to achieve through yoga. My own practice as a student and teacher grows from teaching each and every student. It's a win, win!
I have been in the Stunt Industry since the year 2000. In 2012 I had a serious knee injury while working in Singapore, this took me out of my stunt career for quite some time. That is how I found Yoga. I took sessions to aid in my rehab and loved it so much I decided to beome a teacher!
I had the amazing opportunity to complete my studies in Rishikesh, India. Studying 6 days a week, over three months, was such a incredible adventure! I found what Yoga means to me.
I had the wonderful experience of completing my 500RYT certification in Rishikesh, India. I spent 3 Months studying 6 days a week. Fully engulfed in the yoga lifestyle.
I continue to attend sessions at Yoga Studios for my own practice and growth and find I also grow/learn when teaching others.

I like to teach students by providing what I call "baby steps". We slowly build up seeing what level the student my be at that day (every day is different)....
Then slowly, comfortable build from there each session. My favorite thing is to watch students grow stronger and discover themselves more, in many ways.
I've taught sessions for ages 6 and Up.
In Singapore I had a few students who only spoke Japanese and or very little english. Yoga doesn't need language, it can be visual and energy.
Look for a guide/teacher who will help you be/discover yourself in your Yoga Practice. Yoga is not about being flexible, fit, weight loss, healthy, ect......Yoga is about you connecting to you. Spending that session focusing on you and only you.
Hopefully having fun and doing so.
The flexible, fit, weight loss, healthy...ect. Things- Will naturally happen over time without effort, as long as you show up to your matt for practice! amd smile!
Kindness, any simple daily kindness from one to another, person, animal, plant or thing. I appreciate this small/big moments in daily life!

Perfect! AJ has a confidence that is clearly based on knowledge and an accepting attitude that helped me learn. This was my first real experience with yoga. I was apprehensive and self-conscious. Within moments of arriving for my lesson I felt at ease and ready to learn. I am starting from a very out of shape condition but after just one lesson I feel stronger and excited about my future with yoga. I am glad AJ will be my instructor for this part of my journey into better health.
Perfect! AJ is an incredible teacher. She has the grace and spunk that is the perfect balance for me. She listens to my needs and is also teaching me new mantras to further my practice. I’m so grateful I found her through this site.
