About Idris

I am a lecturer in English and literary studies. I had BA in Education English and MA in English (Literature). I have a five-year teaching experience at University. I teach courses like Communication in English, Introduction to Literature, Introduction to Literary Theory and Practical Criticism and Modern African Poetry. Additionally, I am an experienced translator (Hausa to English and English to Hausa), proofreading expert, copy editor and transcription specialist.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is student-centred where most of the activities are done by students under my guidance. I also teach students online and share online resources. I also ask my students to write essays and present them in the class. Discussions and criticism follow every presentation. I also use poster presentation in teaching in order to enhance students' creativity and self-reliance. I can also have a conversational session especially for students who want to learn Hausa language. This can be done in a very simplified way and a warm and friendly atmosphere.
