Guided by her mission, "Connecting People to Their Passion," Tonya’s professional journey began at FedEx, where she held various roles, including positions in the Memphis Hub, FedEx Wellness Center, and Computer Support Services. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems from the University of Memphis, where she later returned to complete a Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a concentration in Instructional Design Technology. Her career evolved as she transitioned into teaching and program management. At the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) - Memphis, she instructed courses in Microsoft desktop applications and career development as part of the Business Systems Technology program. As Counselor and H1B Grant Manager for the Computer Information Technology program, she supported students through enrollment, grant applications, and career services. Most recently, Tonya served as Academy Operations Manager for Tech901, a Memphis-based nonprofit that provides IT training to individuals seeking career opportunities in the technology sector. In this role, she leveraged her expertise to connect individuals to meaningful careers in IT while contributing to workforce development in the Memphis area. Beyond her professional work, Tonya is dedicated to community involvement. She serves as a mentor with tnAchieves, supporting high school seniors as they transition to college and navigate their first year of higher education.
