About Quinn
In 2023, I founded a writing camp for incoming high schoolers in my area that was incredibly successful with around 80% of my students returning the next year. I was nominated by the English department my sophomore year of high school (I am now a senior) to be a peer writing tutor and have since collected at least 40 hours editing. Besides that, writing is one of my favorite pastimes and I'm excited to be a tutor here!

My lessons are centered around discussion as I encourage students to dig deeper by always asking "so what?" – pushing them to develop a strong, authentic voice. At the start of each session, I always ask what the student hopes to accomplish and allow them to take initiative in their own learning. In doing so, I can personalize the lesson to their needs, whether they want to revise a completed piece, brainstorm a first draft, or review a teacher's draft. I don't teach one way to write; instead, I help students discover their own style and learn to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their own work. My lessons are designed for middle and high school students (grades 6-12) who want to write with confidence, but it may be particularly useful to juniors and seniors preparing to write their college applications.
