About Alex
Coaches these days tend to force a certain style of play on young players who are yet to fully explore their own creativity. A coach does not need to teach a step-over to a player. Young players should be developing their own flair and creativity outside a coaching/team environment by playing by themselves in the garden or with mates at the park, away from the pressure of teammates, opponents, coaches and parents. My job is to build a strong foundation of the fundamentals of the sport, both technical and mental, to allow the player to be able to express their own flair, as flair and creativity is useless without the fundamentals and vice versa. And most importantly ensure the player plays the game with joy always.

About the lesson

I provide an intense emphasis on the fundamentals of the game to allow the player to then build on that foundation and express and develop their creativity and their own style of play.
Sessions last from 45min to 90mins and are focused on the basic skills of the game (e.g 1 and 2 touch passing, the half turn, one-twos, moving with the ball and scanning). Shooting usually comes later once the player has shown strong ability in the previous mentioned skills.
