About Derek
I am a passionate Maths tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have worked with school and university students from different academic backgrounds. My focus is on helping learners understand Maths deeply and communicate their ideas clearly. I use charts, tables, and visual examples to make numbers easier to understand. I support students who feel nervous about Maths and help them become more confident with practice and patience. I challenge learners with analytical thinking tasks to improve quantitative reasoning skills. We work on real exam questions and assignment problems together. I give regular feedback and encourage students to reflect on their mistakes and progress. My sessions are organised, interactive, and focused on long-term academic success.
