About Aldrian
Experienced in the fashion industry with a background in material development and design. Gained knowledge working in fashion companies in womenswear, specifically activewear, lifestyle and golf apparel. I am a graduate of Baylor University majoring in Apparel Design and Product Development and a minor in Business Administration. Proficient in Gerber Accumark PDS and PLM systems, including Centric. Knowledgeable in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Rush, and Microsoft Office software. Trained and knowledgeable in woven and knit garment construction and design, specifically women's contemporary and activewear.

My Teaching Approach
I combine academic fashion education with practical industry knowledge to help students understand not only how to design, but also why certain creative, material and cultural decisions matter.
My teaching is practical, visual and discussion-based. I encourage students to develop their own design identity while giving them the technical and contextual knowledge needed to communicate their ideas professionally. I draw connections between fashion design, material development, fashion history, contemporary industry practice and trend forecasting so that students can see the bigger picture behind a collection or design concept.
Teaching Methods and Techniques
Project-based learning: Students work through realistic design briefs, from initial research and concept development through to final outcomes.
Visual research: I use moodboards, image analysis, historical references, fabric/material research and contemporary fashion examples to develop stronger concepts.
Critical discussion: I encourage students to explain and question their design decisions rather than simply following a formula.
Technical guidance: Depending on the student's needs, lessons can cover design development, textiles and materials, garment construction, research methods, portfolio presentation and creative direction.
Industry perspective: I share practical knowledge of how designers, brands and creative teams work, including how ideas develop from research into commercially or conceptually relevant outcomes.
Trend forecasting: Students learn how to identify emerging cultural, social, material and aesthetic influences and translate them into meaningful design research rather than simply following trends.
Individual feedback: I adapt each lesson to the student's level, project and learning style, with clear feedback on strengths and specific areas for development.
