About Ethan
Hi, I’m Ethan. I’m a calm, down-to-earth STEM tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students go from “I don’t get it” to “I can do this.”
I finished QCE with a 98.85 ATAR and I’m now in my final year of Civil Engineering, so I’m very comfortable with math, physics, chemistry, and the problem-solving style used in high school and first-year uni. I tutor preschool to university Math and Physics, and I also support first-year university Chemistry and engineering foundation subjects.
My sessions are friendly but focused. I explain concepts clearly, show a repeatable method, and then coach you through practice until it clicks. I’m patient, organized, and reliable and I aim to build confidence as much as results, so students feel prepared walking into class, tests, and exams.

Teaching methodology
Start with a quick diagnostic (5 mins): what you know, where you get stuck, and what your school/uni is currently covering. Allows me to see where you are at and ensure I'm not focusing on areas that you are already competent in
Teach the concept in a clear way focusing on the why and the how to build a proper and deep understanding, using simple visuals and worked examples.
Guided practice: we solve questions together step-by-step, focusing on a repeatable method.
Independent practice: you attempt similar questions while I coach and correct.
Finish with a recap: key steps/formulas + a short practice plan for the week (and optional homework questions).
