About Toby
I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Sheffield in my final year of study. Throughout my academic career I have found a love for maths and physics and I hope to share this passion with my students. I have years of experience in tutoring, starting in school and continuing through university. I have seen a vast improvement with all my tutees, which is reflected in the higher grades many achieved as a result.

I engage in maths and physics tuition for KS2, KS3 and GCSE students. My lessons generally involve an introductory task to get the brain motivated, followed by an introduction to the topic or a refresher if its something the student is quite comfortable with. I will then explain the key concepts and methods before setting an example question to go through together with the student. If they answer this with confidence and accuracy I will set more questions to review at the end of the lesson, or explain again with more examples if they have not quite grasped it. Also note I will take a few minutes at the start of each lesson to explain the plan.

Details
My rates will be the same for any level of tuition. If I receive sufficient notice of a student not being available I can offer to rearrange the lesson. Similarly if I am not available I will give notice to rearrange at a convenient time or am happy to refund for the hour.
