About Simi

I'm Romita, a final-year Psychology Honors student at Chandigarh University, currently maintaining a CGPA of 8.23. My interest in psychology isn't just academic — I've applied it in real clinical and organizational settings, and I'm currently conducting a mixed-methods systematic review under faculty supervision on psychosocial care and mental health needs, alongside a poster presentation on character strengths and body image in oncology patients.

I completed a Psychology Internship at Antara Psychiatric Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Kolkata, where I conducted behavioral interviews and observations, and worked as an HR Trainee at an NABH-accredited hospital, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee documentation in a high-pressure environment — experience that's taught me a lot about how people think, communicate, and respond under different kinds of pressure, which directly shapes how I teach.

I've also completed an APA-affiliated Psychological Research Specialization through Coursera, and I stay active outside academics too — I'm a national-level full-contact karate champion and Secretary of my university's MMA Self Defense Club, where I've organized large events for 150+ students. I believe discipline from sport and patience from research make me a calmer, more structured teacher.

About the lesson

My teaching style is friendly and focused on clearing concepts rather than rote learning. I'm a final-year Psychology Honors student at Chandigarh University (CGPA 8.23), and I bring real-world psychology into every lesson — drawing on my experience as a Psychology Intern at a psychiatric hospital and rehabilitation center, as well as an HR role where I applied behavioral concepts in a real organizational setting. I'm also currently working on a research review under faculty supervision, so I understand firsthand how important it is to build a genuinely strong conceptual foundation — not just memorize definitions. That's why I specialize in helping students understand ideas in depth through real-life examples and stories.

A typical class starts with a short, casual conversation to check in on how your day has been. I believe your mood genuinely affects how well you learn, so understanding it first helps me adjust the lesson to keep you engaged rather than forcing information that won't stick. After that, we move into the syllabus — I explain concepts clearly, then ask you to explain them back to me in your own words, so I know they've truly landed. I keep homework minimal, since school already puts enough pressure on students, and I focus instead on making each class genuinely enjoyable while still building real depth of understanding.
