I join children in their play, using it as a vehicle to model skills, introduce new vocabulary, and support communication in a natural and engaging way. Individualised Attention: I tailor resources and activities to the child's unique learning style, pace, and interests. This might involve using real-life examples, visual aids, sensory activities, or hands-on exploration. Positive Reinforcement and Relationships: Building a strong, trusting relationship is paramount. I create a positive, emotionally supportive environment where children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes (which are treated as clues, not failures), and ask questions. Scaffolding and Independence: I provide appropriate support when a child is learning a new skill, gradually reducing help as they become more competent and confident. This fosters independence and a sense of achievement.
