As a university student who is currently majoring Law with Honours, I aim to help and guide students who have trouble finding the motivation to study, memorize or even seek help from relevant teaching staff to clarify their doubts.
I encourage students to take the lead when opening a session. The topic for a session will normally be dictated by where students are at in terms of their knowledge level and university requirements. If all students participate it makes for interesting and focused discussions. I act as a facilitator but am able to have input where knowledge may be lacking.
I believe that academic concepts are best learned when they are contextualised to suit individual needs and will aim to present knowledge in such a way that is suited to the student and their learning needs/preferences.
I am patient, guide the student, and help them find ways to decide on the answer. I am friendly and yet firm with learning. I usually find once they understand once answer, the confidence level rises, and maths becomes easier.
