About Mariyah
I understand that students learn best when they feel supported and confident, so I aim to create a calm, encouraging online learning environment. I am well organised, reliable, and committed to helping students feel comfortable asking questions and making steady progress towards their GCSE goals.
I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at university. I have a strong academic background in Biology and Chemistry, achieving three Grade 9s and seven Grade 8s at GCSE, as well as A*BB at A-level in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology.

I begin by consolidating key concepts, ensuring students fully understand the material through explanation, questioning, and active discussion. The remainder of the lesson is then focused on applying this knowledge through exam-style questions, allowing students to practise exam technique, identify common mistakes, and improve their confidence under exam conditions.
I typically teach 2-hour online lessons, as this allows enough time for both content consolidation and in-depth application without rushing. Lessons are interactive and paced according to the student’s ability, with regular checks for understanding.
In terms of qualifications and experience, I am a first-year Biomedical Sciences student at university. I achieved three Grade 9s and seven Grade 8s at GCSE, and A*BB at A-level, studying Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Having recently completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I have a strong understanding of the exam specifications and effective revision strategies.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE students studying Chemistry and Biology, typically aged 14–16, who are preparing for exams or looking to strengthen their subject understanding and confidence.
