About Luke
I am a flute tutor who enjoys guiding students on their musical journey with creativity and skill. My teaching combines mentorship, accountability, and critical thinking. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while encouraging self-expression. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training for complete musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I help students set goals, practise consistently, and monitor their progress. Mistakes are treated as natural learning opportunities and a chance for growth. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, level, and interests.
I act as a mentor, offering encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback. Lessons balance technical development with creative exploration to keep students engaged. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in all sessions. My goal is to build confidence, independence, and a love for music in every student. Lessons include tone exercises, rhythm practice, breath control, and phrasing. I also teach theory, sight-reading, and ear training to develop well-rounded musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, musical storytelling, and composition.
