About David

Hi, I’m David! I’ve spent 20+ years in game development, teaching and working in the industry. At Full Sail University, I helped thousands of students build their projects and land jobs—some even went on to work on Red Dead Redemption and Halo: Reach.

Since then, I’ve worked for NASA, developed military simulations, and led the official Unreal Engine Meetup in Orlando. Today, I’m the Lead Programmer at Xiphos, using Unity 6 daily to build advanced training systems.

I offer one-on-one coaching in Unreal Engine 5 & Unity 6, C++/C# programming, and Portfolio & Resume Prep for game studios.

Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for the industry, I’ll help you build the skills and confidence to stand out. Your game dev journey starts now—let’s go!

About the lesson

With years of experience in the game industry and teaching at Full Sail University, I know how games are built—from idea to launch. My lessons are designed to give you the skills and confidence to create your own projects step by step.

Come prepared with Unreal Engine or Unity, plus Visual Studio (with C++/C# installed), and bring specific goals so we can focus on what you want to learn. Expect to be hands-on—I won’t do the work for you, but I’ll guide you through the process so you truly understand it.

My students range from complete beginners to aspiring professionals looking to sharpen their skills in Game Development fundamentals, Unreal Engine 5 & Unity 6, and C++/C# programming. By the end of each session, you’ll not only know what to do but also why it works.

David's response
Diego was highly friendly and attentive to the information I provided. He listened and asked questions while following along with my directions. I have high hopes for the project he's working on!

Dave and I have been friends for over 20 years. We have taught together at Full Sail University in the past and are currently working for Xiphos on a military trainer using Unity 6.

As long as I have known him, he has always enjoyed teaching and mentoring others. His knowledge and experience in developing clean practical solutions to problems is extremely deep. Not only does he have extension experience in C++ and C#, he also enjoys developing games in Unity and Unreal.

I strongly recommend Dave to anyone interested in learning to program. He can easily teach the basics and the complex aspects on C++ and C# along with game development using Unity or Unreal.
