About Jacob
As a college student studying to become an educator, I graduated with a 3.96 GPA and received the education award as the top student among those pursuing education in my class. Upon graduating, I began my teaching career in the middle school setting and was immediately faced with the trying times of COVID. I persevered and taught for 2.5 years. That was when I decided that I did not enjoy being your typical classroom teacher. So I ultimately left, became a firefighter, and now with a flexible schedule can still enjoy the teaching that I love, but in a more personable fashion and how it best fits my students individually rather than what the curriculum says.

As somebody who spent time as an educator in the classroom and decided to follow a new career path as a firefighter, I understand the struggles of the mundane, boring approach that is our education system. I enjoy the 1 on 1 setting, where I can collaborate with my students and get to know how they learn on a more personal level. I was once a student-athlete, was involved in mentoring clubs, and feel as if I’m a diverse candidate who can connect with anybody.
