About Ryan
Though I am a former teacher, my problems with the education field have nothing to do with my love and passion for working with students. I am not a teacher who is only concerned with scores on some arbitrary standardized test. I care about helping my students develop skills that will actually help them with their future careers and lives. I believe in developing trusting and professional relationships with my students, which I feel leads to greater learning. Additionally, as a person with dyslexia and ADHD, I understand the struggles and complications that arise due to mental health and learning issues. While I have struggled to keep my disorders in check, I ultimately see them as benefits because they have given me empathy and understanding for others who have similar issues.

I have been a teacher of English, writing, and oral communications for over 10 years. I possess highly advanced editing skills which can help you turn a good essay into a great one. I have a passion for discussing all types of literature and can help you brainstorm theses for in-depth papers. I have a bachelor's degree and am three classes away from a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching - English Language Arts.
Additionally, I am a highly accomplished speech and debate coach whose teams have won numerous regional, state, and national awards. I can give you intense one-on-one lessons to make your speech more competitive and impactful.
