I still write code - mostly baseball analytics - which was my gateway topic as a young high school scholar-athlete. I was a varsity catcher in HS and a DI rugby player. Understand the problem from 1st principles is te key. Even the most intricate problems can be broken down to simpler forms. From that point then understanding and eventually solutions can emerge. I have employed this approach in every technical endeavor I have encountered.
