About Mark
I am a mathematics, physics and science tutor with a strong academic and professional background in mathematical statistics, mathematical physics, algorithmic trading and quantitative finance. I have studied Mathematical Statistics and Mathematical Physics at the University of Copenhagen, with academic work covering probability theory, stochastic processes, advanced statistics, astrophysics and option pricing. My professional work has also involved quantitative research, financial modelling, data analysis, Python programming and algorithmic trading systems.
Before moving to the UK, I worked extensively as a senior mathematics, physics and science tutor in Denmark with MentorDenmark, a major Scandinavian tutoring company. In that role, I taught students aged roughly 7 to 23, supporting them with mathematics, physics, general science, exam preparation, mock examinations and confidence-building around difficult technical subjects.
I was trusted with many high-expectation tutoring cases, including students from families of senior executives, investment professionals and university academics. These families relied on me not only to improve grades, but to build real understanding, confidence and long-term academic discipline. Many of my dedicated students went on to achieve top marks in mathematics and physics.
My teaching style is clear, structured and patient. I focus on helping students understand why methods work, rather than simply memorising steps. I am especially good at helping students who feel behind, overwhelmed or unsure of themselves. I break difficult topics into manageable pieces, rebuild foundations where needed, and then gradually push students towards stronger independent problem-solving.
I take pride in making mathematics and physics engaging, logical and less intimidating. Whether a student is aiming for top grades, preparing for exams, catching up after falling behind, or trying to build confidence, my goal is always the same: to help them perform well while developing a genuine understanding of the subject.
