About Yousha
I’m a BSc graduate currently working as a Freelance Full-Stack Software Developer and an Academic Tutor. I like to focus on building a solid foundation upon which students can base their academic careers, for understanding the core concepts of a subject is the key to excelling in it. My passion for teaching is one that I’ve developed through my own experiences in academia (both through taking subjects on my own and tutoring for the university) and put into practice over the years by helping students achieve their academic goals. My hope is that I can impart all of the knowledge and experience that I’ve gained over the years onto others so that they too can find success in academia and beyond.

I'm someone that's tutored both informally and formally, worked, researched and studied at the top of my field. Here's how I generally like to structure my lessons.
* Start with theory sessions to flesh out the methodology and build the foundation
* Go through various applications of the theory in the form of experiments, demonstrations and simple questions
* End by looping all the above back in with the syllabus taught. We start here to apply everything to past papers and work from class.
Every student learns differently and starts out with varying levels of proficiency in a given subject . We will spend more time in one of the above areas based on where a student has their strengths and weaknesses.
I also like to make sure that my students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and just generally experimenting with the subject.
I believe that a conducive learning environment where students feel like they are collaborating and learning with you results in students engaging more in the lessons and retaining more of the material covered when the lesson ends.

Details
I charge a flat rate of R450 per hour for face to face lessons and R400 per hour for online lessons (over teams, zoom, etc). I do believe that you should be able to see if you or your child will enjoy and work well with me as a tutor before you pay anything, so I offer a free first lesson. I also offer a discounted rate if you choose to pay for a 5 or 10 hour lesson package.
