About Emilie
A bit about me:
I have over 10 years' experience as a retail buyer & designer. My studies were done in Montreal, and my first job as a Fashion Designer was in Tel-Aviv (that's right, I had to learn Hebrew!). I then worked for sometime in New York as a buyer.
In addition, I've taught English on & off as a volunteer and online for university students in China.
Also, I too had to learn English! That's right, up until the age of 6 I only spoke French. I still remember those first few months in the US starting first grade. I didn't understand a thing, and refused to speak. In fact, everyone at school thought I must be mute. Finally, after two months I ended up speaking using more or less complete sentences. My classmates were amazed and thought it was a miracle that I could actually speak.

Let's talk! The best way to learn or practice a language is just to start speaking. Often when we study a foreign language we tend to listen a lot, study grammar & spelling rules, but in the end we don't often speak out loud. So, when the time comes to actually have a conversation - oops! - nothing comes out. We feel shy because we aren't used to hearing ourselves speaking in that language, and we are worried about how we might sound.
Whatever your English level, we can get started today by just having a simple conversation, pausing whenever you might have a question about the meaning of a word, a sentence structure or an expression. This lesson will give you the chance to speak without worrying about making mistakes or how you might sound - let's practice!
