About Sophia
I have just finished my first year of Geography BA at Exeter University. I love my degree as it enables me to study a wide breadth of subjects encompassing physical, human and cultural geographies.
Beyond studying I enjoy surfing, basketball, volunteering roles in the local community, as well as leadership roles in sustainability groups.
I completed A-Levels in Biology (A), Geography (A) and English Literature (A*).
My previous teaching experience includes working as part of the Artslab team (a social enterprise connecting artists and communities), alongside working with students from Special Educational Needs Schools, mentoring younger pupils during my time in school and being an active member of the Sport Council.
I really enjoy working with students, sharing a curiosity and active attitude to learning and crucially building a students belief in their own capabilities.

I really enjoy teaching and helping others. I understand how important it is to build peoples confidence and understanding and feel that my natural enthusiasm of the subject, can enable me to work with students on any area they are finding difficult.
I am able to work with students on all exam boards or with younger children at the appropriate National Curriculum level.
I like to start with a free meeting to discuss with the student, areas that they are struggling with and identify how they learn best.
Each session will be tailored to the student’s needs, focussing on areas that they need support with. I will include visual resources as well as multi-sensory memory strategies with each session.
