About Rija
My name is Rija and I have just completed my 3rd year in computer engineering at McMaster University. I know what it feels like to not understand what your teacher is saying in class and how it feels to fall behind, but over the course of my high school and undergraduate career I've developed the skills for effective teaching and how to address weak points to bridge the gap in learning. I have been a math tutor at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate Institute as well as experience as an instructor at Kumon. I am equipped to teach math (any level up till Grade 12), data management, calculus, economics (microeconomics and engineering economics) as well as any help with English assignments and essay writing!

My teaching method is providing the student with an overview of the lesson plan, targeting fundamental key points and then going in-depth to ensure the student understands all aspects of theory before delving into practical applications. I like to use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage and build confidence within the student and allow them to develop critical and analytical thinking selves to allow them to solve any related problem on their own.
