About Henry
Hello! I am a passionate life scientist and researcher holding a Ph.D. in Plant Genetics, a Master’s degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding, and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. While my research expertise is focused on genetics, my academic journey has given me an incredibly robust, comprehensive foundation across all core areas of Biology. I firmly believe that the fundamental laws of life, molecular biology, and cellular mechanics are universal, and my goal is to help you master these concepts with total confidence.
Teaching and mentoring have been central to my academic career. I began tutoring during my undergraduate years, where I discovered a knack for helping students prepare for crucial supplementary exams by breaking down intimidating topics into manageable, logical pieces. Beyond private tutoring, I spent nine months teaching at my alma mater following graduation, and served as a Laboratory Demonstrator and assignment assessor at the University of Tasmania from 2017 to 2020. This extensive university-level experience means I excel at translating dense textbook theories into clear, actionable understanding.
Whether you are navigating high school biology, tackling advanced undergraduate coursework, or preparing to clear a difficult exam, my sessions are entirely customized to your pace and needs. I look forward to working together to strip away the jargon, reveal the logic behind the science, and help you unlock your full potential in biology!

About the lesson

Biology is the study of life itself, and I believe it should be taught in a way that feels alive, not like a list of facts to memorize. My lessons are entirely tailored to your specific requirements, curriculum, and learning goals. Whether you are struggling with complex cellular pathways, genetics, or ecological systems, I break down heavy theoretical concepts by linking them directly to practical situations in daily life. By connecting textbook science to the world around you, even the most intimidating biological processes become clear, intuitive, and easy to understand.
Our sessions are designed to be highly interactive, two-way conversations where we actively work through the material together. To help you maintain a healthy study balance and avoid academic burnout, I consciously choose not to assign heavy after-hours tasks or tedious homework. Instead, we do the heavy lifting during our time together, ensuring you master the concepts in class. You will leave each session with a crystal-clear understanding of the topic and the confidence to ace your exams, keeping your free time truly your own.
