About Joanne
Enthusiastic, ambitious, and patient tutor specialising in teaching English Literature, French, and Spanish.
I am confident helping students prepare for GCSE and A-Level examinations, working to build confidence and capability for exams, while also supporting them to develop their own voice and writing style.
I hold a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages from Cambridge, with specialisms in studying literature and theatre. I was the first in my family to go to university, and wholeheartedly believe in the impact of one-to-one teaching to help develop a student's full potential.
I believe developing confidence, being curious, and enjoying the exploration of source material is a key component to academic success, no matter what age you are. I hope to encourage students to develop the necessary skills to feel prepared when tackling a range of texts, historical contexts, and themes.
I am passionate about encouraging students to develop independent thought and take critical thinking approaches to their work.
