About Caitlin
English tutor
Trained in providing support to children at KS2-3, GCSE and A Level. Happy to work 1-1 or with small groups of the same age or ability. All tutoring is online due to current covid restrictions.
I began tutoring in 2014 while working as a teaching assistant for 4-16 year olds. From 2016-2018 I worked as a teaching assistant at The University of North Carolina while completing my MA, before returning to the UK. Currently, I’m continuing my academic research and publications while writing a book exploring the life of blues singer Clara Smith.
I have a recently issued enhanced DBS check, which can be provided upon request. I ask that an adult is in the house during all online tuition sessions. Price per hour varies based on group size and level, please contact me and I will send over a list of my rates.

I provide structured and engaging sessions, and will work with you to assess exactly where your child needs support. I enjoy adapting sessions to include students' interests, which in turn, increases their engagement. I find this is particularly helpful for students with learning difficulties. As someone who has gone through higher education with learning difficulties, I understand the importance of creating an action plan tailored to meet the goals of individual students in a flexible and supportive manner.
I will provide feedback and reinforcement to your child throughout the session to help foster a growth mindset. At the end of each session, I will share this feedback with you. I can also provide written feedback for you to share with your child's teacher.
