About Thomas
I'm Tommy, from North Yorkshire. I relate very strongly to students who struggle with their GCSE English Language (and Literature) because I did, too. It was so hard for me to see the point of all this analysis, but my teachers stuck with me and helped me see the magic of the subject. It sounds a bit corny, but it's absolutely true. I'm now teaching it myself, having also used it as a professional writer and debater for many years while living abroad. I am ready and willing to help, and hopefully I can cure your frustration and help you see the way forward.

I like to help students with this subject by tailoring the content we study to your own interests. The joy of the English Language course is that we can apply the knowledge to virtually any type of writing or other material, including in topics you're more interested in and can engage with.
A typical lesson with me is about 45 minutes, but I'm happy to do longer sessions for those who need. I come with 20 years' classroom experience, as well as an MA in Education.
