About Ellery
I am a current student at Carleton University studying in the Bachelors of Global and International Studies program where my concentration is in teaching English in a Global Context (Linguistics). I previously graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program where I took English as a HL and finished as an Ontario Scholar. I am able to speak french fluently and am currently taking language courses in Mandarin Chinese (普通话) and Korean (한글). I was previously and exchange student in Belgium and I have a passion for language aquisition.

English tutoring for students with very limited prior knowledge of English will focus on building a strong foundation in English. Lessons will include basic sound structures, vocabulary, day-to-day expressions, basic grammar and spelling. The lessons will have an emphasis on both speaking, writing and oral comprehension. Students will gain a better understanding of the English language and will be able to use it more naturally.
For students struggling in their English literacy classes. Lessons will be centered around course content, covering the difficult areas of complex grammar, sentence strcture, syntax and diction. The focus of the lessons would be on building upon previous understanding of essay writing, critical literary analysis and simple-complex literary devices. Lessons will be focused based off of individual students needs.
