About James
I have received grades in the high 90's all throughout high school math, and am currently independently learning AP Calculus BC, which is the equivalent of a first-year University course. I also have several months experience tutoring a family member in Grade 2, and have given much informal tutoring to my peers. Further, I am a three time provincial champion in debating, and so am very proficient in communication.

Both as a tutor and a student, I focus on understanding math, not on test scores. This means spending time to find ways of looking at math that make sense to students, and practicing often to develop familiarity and confidence with concepts, as well as making connections with previous knowledge. I believe that students should strive for understanding above all else, and that good grades will follow.
