About Sophie
I have been tutoring for one year, and have a job at Kumon. I excel in all math classes and continue to learn math outside of school. But, when COVID hit, I lost motivation to practice and do well in math. Slowly, once understanding the content, I found math to be exciting and once you truly grasp the material, it can be tons of fun! Hopefully, I can give you a chance to experience this feeling as well!

I approach teaching with a positive mindset, patience being my top priority. I believe that confidence in your ability to solve math problems is key to curving your math scores. Understanding the material rather than memorizing is crucial in the long run and building a strong foundation of knowledge earlier on will benefit you hugely.
For Grades 1-6, I incorporate visual methods and personalize lessons to suit different students. I am equipped with the most recent ways of teaching and methods used in school.
