About Ugochukwu Chima

I am Ugochukwu, a Math and Science Tutor working currently with Prepclass (a renowned Edu-tech firm in Nigeria). I have been in the teaching field for over ten years. I teach Basic Sciences and Math to Junior high school students, and Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math to Senior high school students. I have taught in many high schools and have also prepared students for external examinations such as JSCE, BECE, WAEC, NECO, JAMB/UTME, IGCSE, etc. I have over the years handled many students in both regular classes and external exam preparation; built the foundation of many students in Math and Science. Many students that have passed through me are done with university education while others are undergraduates schooling here/in abroad. No matter your level of knowledge in Science or Math, I can handle you. You are free to ask those questions you feel shy asking your subject teacher in school, I am available to attend to your questions and would break every ambiguous term to the simplest form for easy understanding.

About the lesson

I handle students on both physical and virtually (online), but I prefer online classes because it is more convenient for me due to my busy schedules.

I handle my online classes via zoom, the students can see clearly what I teach, I can choose to solve questions on paper and the students see what is done through my video (that is in cases where I use phone for classes) or I share a white board, write/solve on the board since I have a writing tablet (in cases where I use a laptop). I also have prepared materials on many topics in the subjects I teach. I can also share these materials (when I share my screen on zoom) and the students can see clearly as I explain the content of the material.

A lesson last between 1 to 2 hours. But I prefer 1hr 30mins per class. Because such time is enough for quality teaching and it is also less tiring on the part of the student.
Once we have been paired to commence tutoring, I will crate a google classroom account, where the student will be added. This is where I paste the students assignment, tutoring materials, test questions and give information as regards any new development or time adjustment.

I have actively been a Science and Math teacher for about 10 years and I teach Basic sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math. But my online teaching experience has been since early 2020 up till now.

Many of my students in the past (the above average) have had distinction (A) in the subjects I teach, while the average students have had upper credit (B). I have taught many non-science students who seem to see biology to be challenging and they have equally had distinction (A) in WAEC and many external examinations.

I am very familiar with both the British and Nigerian curriculum having taught in schools and home tutorials over the years.

Many parents are awed by my vast knowledge in Math and Science generally and they have been grateful to me for the good job I have done in building up their wards in the foundation of Math and science.
