Hello! My name is Abby and I am an experienced tutor with 6+ years of tutoring experience. I am a firm believer in finding a method that works best for the student, and following their lead with my own methodology in mind. Everyone learns differently and it is important to find what works for you!
For something like a research paper, we would look at the prompt together, and try to set a solid thesis, which will help guide your research. We will then work topic by topic to create solid body paragraphs. If needed, we can work together to create visuals and graphics to display data and findings. When it comes to editing, I am happy to read the paper over myself, or work together in a partnership to find areas of weakness that we can improve upon!
On something less formal such as understanding concepts in civics, government, or psychology, I will work with the student to ensure that they fully understand the topic, and provide examples that help them adapt it to their own life. We may do things such as flashcards, simulations, or watch clips to help ensure a t understanding.
